The GGP Junior Tour is one of the following
three key objective measuring tools we use in determining the placement of team
GGP juniors within the “Performance Pathway”.
Golf Skill
Evaluations
PT/Fitness
Evaluations
Playing
Evaluations (Georgia Golf Performance Junior Tour)
Every month from April to October we will
host an event alternately at BridgeMill Athletic Club and Towne Lake Hills Golf
Club. The juniors will compete at special yardages that are based on their
developmental age and skill set. They will have to shoot a pre-determined score
to advance to the next yardage on the tour. All ages are welcome to participate
in the tournaments.
The GGP Junior Tour was created to have a tour our
juniors can compete in to learn how to play tournaments in a safe, family-friendly
environment. It also allows us as coaches
to observe your junior compete in a tournament atmosphere, which helps in our
coaching strategy.
HOW TO ADVANCE
Level 1
•
25 Yards: Shoot 39 or better
•
50 Yards: Shoot 39 or better
Once both yardages are completed and
the junior has passed the golf skill and fitness evaluation, they will be
eligible to move up to Level 2
Level
2
•
100 Yards: Shoot 39 or better
•
150 Yards: Shoot 39 or better
Once both yardages are completed and
the junior has passed the golf skill evaluation and PT/fitness, they will be
eligible to move up to Level 3
Junior
Tour fees are separate from program fees. Juniors in our programs are not
required to play in the tournaments, it is optional.
Tournament
fee includes green fees, one cart per player with a parent as caddy, tournament
awards/prizes, and pizza following play.
RACE TO
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
The Georgia Golf Performance Race to Player of the Year
will take place throughout the year during each of our Junior Tour
tournaments. This is a year-long tournament race that is structured like the
FedEx Cup on the PGA Tour. Points are accumulated from each tournament for each
age division along with one overall winner from all divisions. Age divisions
for the Georgia Golf Performance Race to Player of the Year are based upon your
junior’s age as of April 1st.
