Justin (JT) Tackett has
worked in the golf business for over 20 years and has spent more than half of
that time teaching and club fitting. As Director of Instruction for Club Corp.
@ Bentwater, he assisted in the opening of the first Nike Golf fitting center
in the United States in 2012 and was certified in their NG360 Functional
Performance system allowing him to understand, in depth, how the body
biomechanically works in the golf swing.
This provides a great benefit to his students, since this allows JT to identify
if his students can make the swing changes that are necessary or if a physical
limitation might be holding them back.
JT credits his teaching
philosophy to his mentor, friend, and Hall of Fame Teaching Professional,
Manuel de la Torre, who was a leading proponent of Ernest Jones’ club focused
approach to learning the golf swing. Justin has learned these concepts and
application of them through study, observation, and personal conversations with
Manuel de la Torre for close to a decade.
JT has guided many
junior students from Pee Wee through HS and into college. Justin cares deeply
about his students’ successes not only for the short term but also for the long
term. Justin provides a unique coaching
experience with his extensive knowledge in club fitting, the biomechanics of
the body, and how to score on the golf course.
This benefits his clients in such a way that allows him to identify
where a problem is coming from quickly: whether from the club or the golfer.
JT is extremely excited
about his future at Georgia Golf Performance, and helping people reach their
performance goals through his passions of club fitting and coaching.
JT is available if
